Version history of VRX Voice Recording Software

2.x and 3.x versions of VRX is incompatible of previously released 1.x versions. Any user who wants to upgrade 2.x, should contact product supplier or TEKNIKOM. Compatibility has been stated on the bottom of product.

3.0  (01.Dec.2012)

New added features:

· VoIP recording feature added. It can be downloaded and run in demo mode for evaluation purpose. Temporary licensing is provided for unlimited evaluation.

· Phonebook name and physical channel-id can be seen with VRXplayer.exe

· Recording from sound card feature added. CCIR 5-tone (wireless comms.) and DTMF decoding supported. Single or dual channel licensing available. (3.0.3.0)

· DTMF caller-id decoding feature added. FSK or DTMF caller-id signal is detected and decoded automatically. (3.0.3.1)

Fixed problems:

· Loss of current recordings prevented in case of USB disconnection.

· Early termination problem fixed while playing back long recordings (more than 15-20 mins).

New added features:

· Voice graphics added to recordings. This feature let users to easily locate certain parts of conversations (dial tone, busy tone, silent, noisy etc).

· Certain part or whole recording can be played in loop.

· Recordings can be encrypted.

· System closing password added. Computer can not be shut-down in normal manner priord closing the VRX voice recording program (Windows-7 partly disables this feature).

· Database can be password protected. In case of unauthorized people has access to system disk or backup, database can not be opened.

· Automatic deletion feature added according to remaining disk space. This feature can be combined with existing record keeping duration.

· Recordings can be marked as “important” by dialing DTMF digits during conversation.

· Actual recording time can be seen as listening past recordings.

· Analogue and digital radio transceivers can be recorded with optional license. Certain brands of digital radio transceivers might require data adapter.

· New developed supplementary programms are being copied to disk during installation. They also can be downloaded from Teknikom web site.

- “VRXcheck.exe” is for controlling voice recording system via any computer over local network or internet. As many recording systems as can be controlled with this utility.

- “VRXbrowser.exe” is developed to avoid the need of VRX voice recording software to be installed to search and listen backup data. This utility is automatically copied to the backup media during backup.

- “VRXplayer.exe” can play individual voice files generated by VRX voice recording software. During playback, all necessary information is displayed as well such as; voice graphic, server name, date/time/duration, phone number etc. It is useful when recordings are shared with colleagues or sent via e-mail. It is also copied to the backup media during backup.

· Up to 8 recorders can be connected to the same computer (was 4 before).

· VR-e1 card (ISDN recording) support added. Up to 4 e1 lines (120 channels) can be connected on single computer.

· VR-32E support added which is connected to the computer via ethernet instead of USB. Up to 128 analogue lines can be recorded on single computer.

· New exchange brands added to the support list of SMDR (Station Message Detail Recording).

· Extension numbers are made changeable when using SMDR.

· Control pannel of backup feature integrated into the VRX settings window.

· Line basis backup task can be created.

· Time range can be specified when searching past recordings.

· Conversation duration limiting feature added. This feature can be used with optional line breaker card.

· Hour basis “record/don’t record” can be programmed on time dependent recording.

· If CLIR is active on incoming calls, “Private number” statement is shown. This feature is supported with device firmware 31 or higher.

2.5  (15.Apr.2009)

New added features:

· SMDR (Station Message Detail Recording) feature added. Even if recorder is connected to the CO line terminals of PABX, conversations can be recorded on extension basis. Past recordings can also be searched extension basis and users might have different authorizations on different extensions. This is an optional feature and can be activated with SMDR Licence.

· Automatic IP address send feature added. Users, accessing VRX over internet, doesn’t need to get static IP anymore. VRX can send current IP address to predetermined receipant(s) via e-mail during system start-up and when IP address is changed.

· Column widhts saved as client window closed.

Fixed problems:

· Wrong data saving problem solved when comma used in the note field of phone book.

New added features:

· Analyse feature added. Total call counts are listed from most frequent called to least. In the mean time, incoming, outgoing and missed call counts listed seperately. By clicking the a number in the list, all calls of that number reported and could be listened.

· On the call list page, all actions on recordings can be done with new added buttons in prallel with right click menu.

· Refining search feature added according a number or name in call list page.

2.2  (01.Nov.2008)

New added features:

· During conversation, user can click “Name” column to see/edit properties of other party. Number can be added to phone book if not exist. This feature works on the ringing lines before answering the call.

· Phone book page can be opened to also on the recording list, by clicking the “Name” field.

· Notes can be added to onoing conversations.

· Time dependent recording feature added.

· Recordings can be searched according record number.

· Remaining free space is being displayed on backup media.

· New buton (>>) added to media player. This is used to skip current file while playing multiple recording selection.

· User profile settings improved.

· Channel settings are made easier by clicking on the grid.

Fixed problems:

· In case multiple recorders connected to the same computer, voltage and voice level settings mixup problem solved.

· Caller-id and ring detection problem solved which encountered on some GSM gateways.

· On e-mail rules definition page; Distinguishing incoming/outgoing calls and numbers starting with certain prefix is made possible.

• Phonebook data can be imported/exported from/to other applications such as Outlook, Excell or other VRXs.

• Statistical and graphical analyse feature added.
• Important recordings can be marked during or after conversation to find easly later on.
• Important moments of recordings can be marked during conversation or while listening via built in media player. Necessary explanations can also be added to these time marks.
• E-mail alarm generated in case insufficiant space on bakup media.
• Auto restart feature added. VRX service can be restarted daily at programmed hour.
• Multiple recordings can be selected to play succesively. This is useful while listening divided calls such as wireless communication.
• Phone, wireless, room recordings are displayed with different icons in the listings. Past recordings can be searched also according type of call.
• When VRX client and service running on the same computer, recordings can be listened with default media player of Windows.
• Phone line voltage and voice level measured and displayed in order to set treshold level to start recording.
• Recording level can be adjusted either automatic gain control or one of 7 gain levels.
• Callers number and name is displayed before answering the call.
• Unanswered calls are also saved in database as “missed call”.
